UKBAC WATER

How Should Bacteriostatic Water Be Stored?

Store bacteriostatic water according to the instructions for the exact product supplied. Refrigeration is not a universal requirement: some manufacturer labels specify controlled room temperature. Check the stated temperature range, container condition and expiry, and keep batch information with the stock. Do not apply one brand’s instructions or an assumed after-opening period to every BAC water product.

Does BAC water need refrigerating?

Do not automatically put every BAC water product in a fridge. Pfizer’s corresponding labelled bacteriostatic-water product specifies 20–25°C storage. This example does not establish the storage conditions for UKB or another brand; use the label and documentation supplied with your particular product.

Storage reference: Pfizer’s storage and packaging information. Apply it only to the corresponding manufacturer-labelled product.

If the packaging or listing does not provide a clear storage instruction, ask the supplier for the applicable manufacturer information before deciding where to store it.

What should I check when the parcel arrives?

Match the product and size to your order, check the container and packaging for visible damage, and retain the batch and expiry details. Read the storage instructions before placing stock in the laboratory’s designated area. If there is a damaged seal, unreadable label or concern about transport conditions, contact the supplier and follow your laboratory’s stock-assessment process.

Can I assume normal room conditions are suitable?

The phrase ‘room temperature’ is not a substitute for a stated temperature range. Check whether your storage location stays within the manufacturer’s conditions, including during warm weather or when heating is running. Follow any additional light, freezing or packaging instructions that apply to the product; do not transfer requirements from another brand.

Is the expiry date the same as an after-opening period?

No. A printed expiry date and any limit after opening are different pieces of information. Do not assume that an opened container remains suitable until its original expiry date, or apply a generic number of days from an online guide. Use the specific documentation and your laboratory’s approved policy for handling and recording opened stock.

Does benzyl alcohol remove the need for storage checks?

No. The presence of a preservative does not replace the product’s storage instructions or assessment of container condition. A concentration statement does not tell you an expiry period.

Our benzyl alcohol guide explains the formulation wording, and the water comparison explains why product names alone are insufficient.

Where can I find product-specific information?

Start with the relevant listing: UKB3ML · 3 mL, UKB10 · 10 mL and UKB30 · 30 mL. Use it to identify the format, then refer to the supplied label or request the applicable documentation for any missing storage details.

For procurement, compare the available sizes and read the UK buying checklist. The introductory guide covers the basic terminology.
